Role Overview

This is a strategic delivery role within the Cloud Studios Unit at Amdocs Pune. You will drive cloud migration delivery initiatives, focusing on VMware-to-Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) transitions. You will be involved in both technical execution and consulting engagements across global enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Implementation

• Architect and implement VMware solutions including vSphere, vCenter, and VMware SDDC
• Conduct infrastructure assessments and recommend best practices

Project Planning

• Participate in client requirement gathering, design documentation, and delivery planning
• Coordinate with client teams to ensure seamless project execution

Monitoring & Optimization

• Conduct health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning of virtual environments
• Create detailed runbooks for VMware operations on GCVE

Troubleshooting & Support

• Handle escalated technical issues and critical incidents
• Provide ongoing technical guidance and root cause analysis

Migration Execution

• Perform hands-on VMware VM mass migrations, particularly from on-premises to GCVE or AWS
• Expert use of:
• VMware HCX
• vMotion
• NSX / NSX-T
• VMware SDDC
• vROps

Documentation & Training

• Maintain technical documentation: design specs, SOPs, and guides
• Train customer IT teams as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in CS, IT, or related field
• Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP); VCAP/VCDX preferred
• Experience: 5–8 years in enterprise VMware environments
• Technical Stack:
• VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN
• HCX, NSX/NSX-T, SRM
• VMware SDDC, vROps, vRLI
• Active Directory integration
• Backup & DR within virtual environments
• DevOps & Automation Tools:
• PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform
• Cloud: Working knowledge of GCP, AWS, Azure
• Soft Skills:
• Strong troubleshooting and communication abilities
• Experience handling high-pressure client situations

Nice to Have

• Migration experience with Oracle Databases on VMware
• Experience in financial services industry
• Professional-level certifications in cloud platforms
• Deep knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture
